A lot of people nowadays are so occupied with work, so much so that they actually can not find time to eat what is best for their health. In most cases, this group of people always find themselves in a hurry and will tend to eat junk food. It is important to note that balanced nutritional eating is one of the essentials of healthy living.

It is important to make a schedule for meals including the five basic food groups. To develop it in the beginning it will take a bit of your time. All that is needed is to design a food pyramid which involves organic or healthy foods and stick to it.

In order to provide your family with the right balanced and healthy foods, get to know the basic food groups that are part of the food pyramids. A diagram of a food pyramid will show the right kinds of food that should be eaten so that all in the family can maintain proper nutrition and good health. The five food groups are carbohydrates, proteins, fruits, vegetables and dairy products.

You could even make your own nutrition pyramid by following the food pyramid guide. Make a blank food pyramid and label it as my food pyramid. Then list some of the foods that belong to each of the 5 basic food groups.

Making these food pyramids should be done in a way that will incorporate the basic food needs of every member of the household. In order to set up a special nutrition pyramid, begin by constructing a blank food pyramid and this should be called my food pyramid. On this pyramid, you should be certain that you have represented the 5 basic food groups that are essential for your health.

Each meal should also contain fresh fruits and vegetables. You could get lots of vitamins and minerals from fruits and vegetables. They also contain lots of fibers to keep your inner body clean because they are really helpful in taking harmful toxins out of your body.

Dairy products are an important source of calcium, and is needed not only to keep teeth and bones in a strong healthy stat e, but is also needed for other body functions. Omega fatty acids are obtained from the good fats and oils like olive oil, fish, and flax seed and are necessary to supply us with an anti inflammatory effect. All fats are not created equal, we don’t want homogenized or super saturated these can increase the amounts of free radicals in the body.

It is true, what you eat is what you are, because your body cells need nutrition to live just the same as you do. Even with all this good food you still need vitamins, minerals and other supplements to prevent and cure degenerative diseases. These are just a few of the things necessary for a long, healthy productive life.
